Amber Makar has provided clinical and supportive services to youth, families, adults, and couples in multiple settings throughout her mental health career which spans over 18 years. During that time, she has designed and conducted clinical TRAINING in both agency and private settings. In all settings, she has been dedicated to providing affirming services to LGBTQ clients and their support systems.

Background and Experience

Amber holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Studio Arts, as well as a Master’s in Social Work, both from the University of NC at Greensboro. Following her education, she made her long voyage from the east coast to the west coast of California. Her clinical career spans over 19 years and includes Hospice/Aids Service Organizations, the Department of Children and Family Services, Residential Treatment, Aging Adults, and Adult Outpatient.

Within the roles of these agencies, Amber developed, presented, and became relied upon to provide in-service, clinical, and programmatic training. Amber then began to work independently with a commitment to high-quality, engaging, and informative training. Amber has provided training in a wide variety of settings on a broad array of topics and can accommodate your unique training needs
